the abbey is a wonderful addition to the indooroopilly junction shopping complex, replacing gloria jeans across from indro train station. it's got great air con as well as plenty of tables outside.
when // dropped by a few times for a drink.
what // they offer your standard café lunches, including turkish sandwiches, toasties, quiches, and pies for under the $10 mark. i've only tried the thickshakes and smoothies - a bargain at $5. coffees are 3.8 for the regular and 4.5 for the large (3 shots). they also do lots of afternoon tea sweet options (pistachio slice, black forest cake) which are on display at the front. (but what really drew me in was the ben & jerry's fridge!)
the abbey split smoothie (5) banana, strawberry, mango, honey, cinnamon. yum.
verdict // i'll return for the smoothies alone. it's in a really great spot to grab coffee, especially if you're a commuter catching the train.
info // open 6am-7.30pm weekdays and 7am-7.30pm weekends (so really all the time). easy free parking in the shopping centre, but you need to approach going towards the oxley bridge to turn in to the centre.
